Carrie Fell named official artist for 2015 World Ski Championships
First mentioned last October in an article by local newspaper Vail Daily, “While the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail and Beaver Creek will showcase the world’s top ski racers, the event will also serve as the canvas for one of this country’s premier artists, as internationally renowned painter and Vail gallery owner Carrie Fell was named the official artist for the 2015 championships.”
The World Championships represent the largest and most impressive collection of ski racing talent in the world, second only to the Olympics. Scheduled from February 2-15 of 2015 marks only the third time that the Vail Valley has played host to this prestigious international event; the other events took place in 1989 and 1999.
In honor of Carrie Fell’s collaboration with the Vail Valley Foundation, the non-profit organization responsible for hosting this international event, we are introducing this series of Skiers starting February. Collector series will be determined throughout the 2014 year.
