The Cowboys Are Back!
A Brave New World For Carrie Fell
This summer, Carrie unveils her latest cowboys series – the likes of which haven’t shared a large presence in the gallery for over two years. Bolder, brighter, truly contemporary, moving steadily toward more abstract – the exhibition which includes six brand new originals is an explosion of color throughout.
“The subjects represent something I can believe in…people that said, “Let me help you to the next step,” says Fell. “I want my cowboys to be the heroes people look up to.”

SIGN OF PEACE, PATTERN SERIES Pt. 1
Luxury Edition | 55″x81″
This internationally recognized symbol for peace was originally designed in 1958 by Gerald Holtom as the logo for the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. The symbol is a combination of the semaphore signals for the letters “N” and “D”. Quickly adopted by anti-war and counterculture activists in the early ’60s, the peace sign grew to symbolise an ideal of freedom, peace, and happiness among and within all nations and/or people.
Throw in rainbow colors originally conceived by Italian philosopher Aldo Capitini for his inaugural peace march from Perugia to Assisi in 1961; add a nod to renowned pop artist Andy Warhol for his amazing variations on a theme and you have the inspiration for Carrie Fell’s new works on exhibition exclusively at our gallery in Vail this season.
Each color modification of this fluid sign of peace is beautiful on it’s own – then picture an entire gallery decked out with an infinite assortment of this motif. From grand scale to small sized, Carrie’s new SIGN OF PEACE and PEACE Pattern Suite is a colorful pop art series inspired by current events and reinvented in Carrie’s signature style.
Can you imagine a WORLD when every person will realize that we are called to model great vision, with the yearning of improved achievement and courage thereby releasing the spirit of chance. – Carrie
